THE HOLY SPIRIT
THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
by Dwight Davis
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will hereafter send in my name, he shall hereafter teach you all things, and hereafter will bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have at intervals have said unto you . . . But when the Comforter at intervals comes, whom I will hereafter send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which ever proceeds from the Father, He shall ever testify of Me” (John 14:26, 15:26, Expanded Greek Transl.).First, Our God Manifests Himself in Three Persons for Our Benefit Our great God created this entire universe. Our Father designed His eternal plan, so that He could have Spirit birthed Sons in a loving, family relationship for
eternity. Our Father chose us to be in Christ before the foundation of the world to complete our eternal preservation for His purpose (Eph. 1:4).
The One God of the universe is omnipresent, and has chosen to manifest Himself through three(3) main Persons or Personalities: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Our God did this for a particular reason, so that we would be able to enter into this eternal relationship with Him as Father, and that we could have the maximum fellowship with Him in this Father-Son relationship while we were still here living in flesh in this temporal world. This is our God’s eternal plan and His desire to be
manifested in three persons for our benefit. We need to understand the Who,why, and for what reasons that our God manifests Himself in all three Persons.
Second, Our Father is Invisible and Dwells in Unapproachable Light
Many don’t rightly divide the Word and make a distinction between the Triune Persons of the Godhead. Many often readily exchange the Holy Spirit and the Son as being synonymous. As a result, I see these people are missing some of the cardinal and the eternal purpose that our Father has for us in this distinction.
These people are missing a major factor of the Father-Son fellowship that the Father desires for us. Our Heavenly Father dwells in unapproachable light, which no man has or can see (I Tim. 6:16). No man has seen God at any time in the flesh (John 1:18; I John 4:20). The Word is consistent on this point.
Third, The Son is in Us is the Life and Expression in this Temporal World The Word is the living manifestation of God in flesh (John 1:14). The invisible Father spoke His Word and His Word became a living manifestation of Himself in flesh and calls it His Son. The Word became flesh in the Mary body and was called Jesus of Nazareth. Now, for every Spirit birthed Son, the Holy Spirit baptizes us into the Body of Christ (I Cor. 12:13). The word is also consistent when God comes to indwell flesh it is in the Person, Spirit, nature, and Seed ofHis Word – His Son. The Word is consistent about this as well.
We are born again by the incorruptible word of God.That is the Son. John said, the “life is in the Son,” not the Holy Spirit (I John 5:11). He who “has the Son has life,” not he who has the Holy Spirit. (I John 5:12). Paul declares, that “Christ lives me” (Gal.2:20) in Person, not the Holy Spirit. Paul states, that the Spirit of His Son expresses His love to the Father through us (Rom. 8:9; Gal. 4:6). The Son in us as us is life and the life and expression of God in us in this temporal world.
