The Mind Of Christ In You

(Extract from “NATURE FREE” by Don Byrd)

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16). The part of this verse believers need to see is: "But we have the mind of Christ."The mind of Christ is what the believer absolutely most definitely needs. To most believers "having the mind of Christ" is nothing more than a fleeting dream that will be obtainable when we get to heaven.

When the believer opted to choose our Father's Son as his or her Saviour, it was a freewill choice as is "having the mind of Christ." Freewill is choices made freely of one's own accord. To choose Jesus is a freewill choice for the believer. The Father never coerces or forces the believer to receive his Son. When a person freely chooses to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and believe His Father had raised Christ from the dead, that person is born-again of the Father (Romans 10:9) through "Christ in you," thus a believer.

Why would our Father freely put the "Christ in you" nature in the believer and withhold the "Christ in you" mind? Our Father never did withhold this mind from the believer. If He has not withheld the mind of Christ from us, then why do we not have it? Letting the mind of Christ be in the believer is possible if he or she opts for it to be so. Just as it was the believer's freewill choice to accept Christ as his or her Saviour, it is also the believer's freewill choice to accept and have the same mind of Christ! "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:" (Philippians 2:5).

Believers think the mind of Christ must be searched for as a hidden treasure that is impossible to find. And indeed at one time, the mind of Christ was a secret, a mystery hidden from everyone including the angels in heaven. But now, believers have total and complete access to the mind of Christ in Paul's Epistles. It is not Christ who has hidden His mind from believers, but we have put a veil over our minds so we cannot see His mind even though it is in plain sight, written in black and white in Paul's Epistles (1611 KJV). The same mind that is in His only begotten son! Believers that have accepted

Christ as his or her Saviour must also accept the mind of Christ as given to the believer through Paul's Epistles if they want to live as our Father intended for them to live. These revelations pertaining to the mind were given to Paul through the ministry of the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 12:7). Paul then gave it to all believers through his Epistles, if we will simply accept it! The believer can read everything else in the Bible and never have the mind of Christ. The dispensation of grace was given to the Apostle Paul from our Heavenly Father. Grace was then to be given to all other believers through the Pauline Epistles. Access to the mind of Christ is found only in the realm of grace. "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord

Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God" (Romans 5:1-2). I previously have often told other believers we have access to the mind of Christ, but I was without any understanding of how to access that mind. Having access to the mind of Christ does not mean the believer has the mind of Christ; it means he or she only has access to it. Romans 5:1-2 does not say we have grace, it states we have access into grace through Christ Jesus our Lord! Access (entrance) is not an automatic process but is a process functional only through the individual's own freewill choice.

Mind of Christ from Paul to us: "If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: how that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, whereby, when ye  read ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ). (Ephesians 3:2-4). Now I ask you, could this have been stated any better than what we find in these 2 verses? The dispensation of grace is where the mind of Christ is accessible to the born-again believer and not in any other dispensation of time or eternity! This is where it is my friend so stop looking for something magical to happen to you. It is totally in Paul's Epistles. Read it until you eyes cannot stand it any longer. Ponder it over and over until the Holy Spirit reveals this to and in you. It needs to be indelibly written in the hearts of all believers.

This mystery was not given to Abraham, Jacob, David, Moses or to anyone else until it was first given to the Apostle Paul in the Arabian Desert approximately 3 years after his conversion. Now, we can stop wondering how to get the mind of Christ! We can just accept it as we read Paul's Epistles! Paul is the only Biblical writer who knew exactly what the born-again believer needs. Stop! And Listen Carefully: Contrary to popular belief there is no magical process whereby the believer can receive the mind of Christ! The mind of Christ is also no longer a mystery that God still keeps hidden in a secret place inaccessible to believers. Just stop and look at this line: when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ! How does the believer let this mind be in you? The process for this is to read, read, read, and re-read Paul's Epistles! This very emphatically tells us how to let the mind of Christ be in us! Reading Paul's Epistles is how the believer "lets” this mind be in you, which was also in Christ!

The total "Christ in you" Spirit-nature was birthed in the believer, but the mind of Christ was not birthed in the believer. Paul's epistles are but the beginning of letting the mind of Christ be in you. In Ephesians 2:7 it is written that through-out eternity the born-again believer will learn of the grace of God, which is the continuation of letting the mind of Christ be in you! "That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:7). I don't know about you but this is the most exciting and exhilarating news I have heard during my life on this earth! Wow! Incredible! Incredible that it is written right before our eyes and we cannot understand it as it is written! When Paul's Epistles are read and the believer understands when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ the believer's mind begins to be transformed!

The mystery of "Christ in you" is only found in Paul's Epistles. Read it, read it, read all about it, again and again over and over! The mystery is in Paul's Epistles waiting for the believer to read it. Now if this does not motivate you to read Paul's Epistles, then I am at a loss to tell you how to let the mind of Christ be in you! The believer can READ the mind of Christ in Paul's Epistles. Believers wouldn't even know Christ is in them except they read Paul's Epistles and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal this to them. When the understanding of Paul's Epistles comes into the mind of the believer it allows the believer's mind to become compatible with the "Christ in you" nature birthed in the believer. Compatibility between the believer's mind and the believer's "Christ in you nature" is the key to entering into His eternal rest! This is not a mind control method, it is compatibility in its purest form.

The "Christ in you" does not want to control the believer's mind but simply desires to have compatibility with the believer's mind. Compatibility between the believer's mind and the "Christ in you" nature-spirit is the key to living life on this earth as our Father intended. It works, so please try it and find out for yourself. Our Father, His Son or the Holy Spirit will never force the mind of Christ upon any believer for any reason whatsoever. It must be the believer's own freewill choice.
